First, since I know you’re wondering, my name is pronounced just like “Lisa.”
That’s right – regular ol’ Lisa. Just spelled with a few extra vowels.
My name is Leise and I love to photograph real life. Not a posed, dramatically lit, and over-edited version of real life. Actual real life.
Oh, and I love laughter.
Genuine mouth-open, shoulders-rocking, breathless laughter is what I look for when I am photographing weddings and families. I love it. I believe laughter makes the most authentic, sweetest, happiest photos of any occasion or interaction.
Therefore, my approach to wedding and portrait photography is to help you relax and be yourself, so that you can just…laugh. Or cry. Or smirk. Or check yourself out in the mirror. Or just close your eyes and take it all in. I want you to enjoy the moments in front of you, not worry about things happening behind the scenes. I want you to feel comfortable and confident, not overly worried about how you look. I want you to almost forget that you’re being photographed, so that the real, joyful you can shine through.
Of course that is easier said than done. Most people aren’t automatically comfortable and authentic in front of the camera and most couples aren’t automatically relaxed on their wedding day when surrounded by hundreds of family members and guests.
I totally get it! And yet I truly believe that when you are comfortable in front of the camera, beautiful, authentic photos will be the result.
So to help, I have developed a highly personalized and collaborative approach to wedding and portrait photography. We get to know each other. We talk about what kinds of photos you’re looking for, what photos you want to look back on in ten years, and what photos you’re most excited about. We make lists and timelines and Pinterest boards. My goal is to be not only your photographer, but also your teammate, supporting you through the experience of being photographed so that the resulting photos are effortless, gorgeous, and most importantly, authentic.
That is why I tell people, “Just be yourself, and I’ll do the rest.”
I’m also available to help non-profits and mission-driven companies gain visibility and attract clients by telling their brand story through pictures. Visit Leise’s business photography website, to learn more and view my portfolio.
We hired Leise for our wedding on 10/17/15 and she was absolutely fantastic! We loved having the “getting to know you” engagement photo session ahead of time so that we knew her style on the day of our wedding. Leise and her assistant Danielle were incredibly personable, professional, and made us feel at ease during our wedding.

Everyone in my family was impressed was with how quickly she got through the formals without ever feeling like she was rushing anyone, and they were equally impressed when they saw the photos! Whenever we thought “gosh, we’ve got to get a picture of this,” during the reception, she was already there, photographing it. She is very pleasant to work with and her photography speaks for itself.

Having Leise as our photographer contributed so much to our incredibly happy experience of our wedding. Most importantly of course, she is an amazing photographer and she captured moments that look in photos exactly the way they felt in the moment. Also invaluable are the extra contributions that come from her willingness to share all sorts of wedding wisdom. She is the ideal photographer AND planner, advisor, and friend to have beside you on your wedding day! We are so thankful to Leise for all of her help and beautiful work, and cannot recommend her highly enough.

One of the best decisions my husband and I made when planning our wedding was hiring Leise as our photographer. The day of the wedding, Leise was a ninja. There are photos that she took where we have NO memory of her being anywhere around us. The candids are exactly what you might imagine when you’re imagining perfect wedding day candid photos; she really captured the spirit of the whole wedding. The way that Leise worked with us and our families was really perfect. She was able to take control of two very large, rowdy families and get photos done quickly and efficiently, but she was so friendly and fun about it that everyone was genuinely smiling and laughing the whole time. My grandmother even took me aside and said we should hire her for more family events (which ended up happening; she’s photographing another family wedding this month).

How far in advance should I book my wedding package?
Typically, wedding packages are booked 9-12 months before your event, but that is certainly not a rule! If you are closer to your date, please do inquire. On occasion, weddings are booked up to 2 months before. A signed agreement and nonrefundable deposit are required at booking time to hold your date.
What geographical areas do you serve?
Leise is available for weddings anywhere in the Northeast. Travel to most Massachusetts locations is included in all wedding packages.
For weddings in Southern New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Cape Cod and the Islands, an additional $150 travel fee will be applied. Please inquire about fees for weddings in Maine, Vermont, New York, and other areas.
Do you offer “Engagement Sessions”?
Absolutely! We call them Get-to-Know-You portrait sessions, though because “engagement session” implies that it’s going to be cheesy and overly posed. The purpose is really to get to know your photographer and feel more comfortable in front of a camera. For that reason, a Get-to-Know-You session is included in all wedding packages for no additional charge and can be scheduled at any point before your wedding. Get-to-Know-You portrait sessions are held at a beautiful outdoor location of your choice.
We are looking for a mixture of candid and formal wedding photography. Can you do both?
Yes. We always take a combination of formal and candid photographs. Leise’s visual storytelling style leans toward a candid, documentary approach (the spontaneous moments and memories of the day), but formal family photographs are an important aspect of every wedding.
When will our photos be ready, and how many will we receive?
You will have access to roughly 500-600 digital photos via an online gallery approximately one month after your wedding. This collection represents the best photos from the thousands of images shot over the course of a wedding, and each image is enhanced so that the colors, contrast, and details all look great.
Do we receive the high-resolution digital files?
Yes, un-watermarked, high-resolution digital files of your photos are made available to you on a customized thumb drive. You have full rights for personal use, sharing on social media, and making gift prints for your friends and family members (up to 8×10″). Through the online gallery you can also opt to purchase large prints and heirloom albums.
Do you ever work with other photographers?
Yes, and in fact we love being able to offer more than one perspective on your wedding! However, having a second photographer is not a requirement for getting wedding photos that you love. If you are interested in having more than one person available to be sure to capture every moment, we do have packages that include a second photographer.
What kind of cameras do you use?
Leise uses professional-level Nikon digital cameras and lenses with backups. Everything is captured digitally, in color, and edited on the computer.
Do you have business insurance?
Yes, we are fully insured. Some venues require an insurance binder from all vendors, which we can happily provide.
Have you photographed a wedding at my venue?
Leise has photographed over a hundred weddings at all different kinds of venues throughout New England, from backyards to country clubs, so chances are good that we have been to the venue where your wedding will take place. Please ask. A partial list of our favorite venues can be found here.
Do you do any other type of photography? I need a photographer for my business.
While we specialize in wedding photography, we bring our authentic approach to corporate portraiture, conferences, and non-profit organizations. Here is a link to our business photography portfolio. Please inquire about pricing for your project or event!
We would love to hear from you! Leise is often out and about at various photo shoot locations, so please allow up to 24 hours for replies to email inquiries. If you want to reach us quickly, it’s best to call or text Leise at 617-671-5572.
